Membership Information and Application

NCL Vision: All adults are able to fulfill their potential and meet their goals through accessing high quality adult education and literacy services provided by an integrated and well-developed system.

The mission of the National Coalition for Literacy (NCL) is to advance adult education, English language learning and literacy in the US. Membership in NCL is open to national, nonprofit organizations and institutions that have a major focus on adult education and literacy. Individuals with an interest in adult education and/or family literacy may also join the Coalition. Member organizations provide research, policy development and/or advocacy in adult education and/or family literacy; consulting, training, professional development and/or instructional programs to organizations or persons in adult education and/or family literacy. There are three categories of membership in the National Coalition for Literacy; Voting Member Organizations, Nonvoting Member Organizations and Nonvoting Individual Membership. See below for member benefits and dues.

Membership Categories, Benefits and Dues
Voting Member Organization - $1,000 annual dues

• Voting privileges.
• Listed on NCL stationery.
• Voting Member on NCL website.
• NCL Representative and up to three (3) additional delegates.
• Serve on NCL committees or as NCL director or officer.
• Policy development.
• NCL link to website.

Nonvoting Member Organization - $300 annual dues
• Nonvoting Member on NCL website.
• Primary member and (1) additional delegate.
• Serve on NCL committees or as NCL director or officer.
• Policy development.
• NCL link to website.

Nonvoting Individual Member - $75 annual dues
• Individual Member on NCL website.
• Serve on NCL committees or as NCL director or officer.
• Policy development.

Application

Membership in the National Coalition is open to national, nonprofit organizations/ institutions that have a major focus on adult education and to individuals interested in advancing adult education and literacy. To apply for membership, please complete the membership application. You may submit the application:

Supporting the National Coalition for Literacy

The Coalition invites organizations and companies not eligible for membership to support the mission of the Coalition. The Board of Directors is currently designing programs so that supporters, partners, local and state organizations, and others interested in advancing adult education and literacy may participate in the Coalition. Please check back later or send an email for further information to ncl@ncldc.net. We also welcome contributions in any amount to help realize our goals. Contributions to the Coalition are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Please mail your contribution to:
